The Northern College of Acupuncture BSc & MSc

The Northern College of Acupuncture

We know that studying involves a big commitment of time, energy and money, so we try to keep our fees as low as we can. As a not-for-profit organisation, we spend every spare penny on continually developing and improving the training we offer. Our priorities are to offer you a first-class experience and deliver value for money. Your fees include all the teaching and learning opportunities provided by our teaching staff, all your clinical experience in our teaching clinic, tutorials, library and online resources, support services, access to our online e-learning facility, and your registration fees with Middlesex University.

Our BSc in Acupuncture is recognised by Student Finance England, so if you do not already have a University degree, and haven’t already had a loan or grant, you may be eligible for a student Tuition Fee Loan of up to £6,000 per year. Tuition Fee Loans help pay for your course. In addition, Maintenance Loans will help with living costs (e.g. books and bills). You have to pay back all student loans. They are repaid at a low rate of interest and do not have to be paid back until your income has reached £21,000 a year, at which point you pay back 9% of your income over £21,000.

  • For students commencing study in 2017 these fees are fixed until July 2020, unless the national inflation rate (CPI) exceeds 5% or is less than 1%, in which case the College reserves the right to vary the fees quoted here.
  • Fee instalments are paid by direct debit in October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May & June and you will arrange this when you start with us. If you prefer not to pay by direct debit, you can pay the whole fee for each year in October.
  • Enrolment fees are paid on acceptance of a place, are non-refundable and are not included in your direct debit payments.

Student loans for the BSc in Acupuncture

If you are granted a full time student tuition fee loan for the BSc you will receive £6,000 per year towards the cost of the course. This is paid directly to the College once you have been confirmed as a student when you attend on your first day. You will also pay the balance of the fees by instalments - 9 instalments of £114 in the first year, 9 instalments of £258 in the second year and 9 instalments of £277 in the third year. Please note that student finance will not pay the £388 enrolment fee.

Part time student loans for the BSc in Acupuncture

If you are studying the BSc in Acupuncture over four or more years (up to six) you may be eligible for a part time student tuition fee loan. You will receive up to £4,500 per year towards the cost of the course. This is paid directly to the College once you have been confirmed as a student when you attend on your first day. You will also pay the balance of the fees by instalments. Fees for each part time year will be charged per module – please ask us for details. Please note that student finance will not pay the £388 enrolment fee.
